Add the first image.

Add the second image

Set the Blend Mode to Darken.

Add the third image.

Set the Blend Mode to Darken.

Add a smoke effect.

Duplicate the smoke layer to make it looks thicker.

Erase some of the outline of the smoke.

Add another image.

Duplicate the image.

Use the copy, change the Level of the image via Adjustment.

Use eraser tool to erase some of the image.

The after effect.

Add another image.

Use the same method as before, change the Level via Adjustment.

Same goes to this image.

Add a image to fill the upper right of the poster.

Change the Level of the image via Adjustment.

Add another at the left side of the poster. Use the same method as before.

Add a  few Fighter jet at the background.

Change all of the images Blend Mode to Darken.

Add an explosion image at the left side of the building for more effects.

Erase some of the unnecessary part.

Illustrator:

Open the image you want as cover for the magazine.

Use Rectangle Tool to create and fill with red color.

Use Type Tool to type the text and make it into a 3D model using 3D Tool.

Use the same technique for this text.

Use Type Tool to write the text.

Add color via Gradient Tool.
